Occupied Warren 2.0 was a temporary, site-specific installation designed specifically for and within one room of a house in Warren, Ohio that was scheduled to be demolished. The installation was inspired by the design of a ventilation grate in what would have been the living room of the house. I worked with Rosa Multiflora – an invasive species to our region that grows prolifically in ditches, pastures, meadows, and forest thickets. I kept the existing aquamarine color of the walls, allowing the multiflora to contrast this underlying color and its thorny, bothersome qualities with the decorative patten into which it was incorporated.
